What is Sustainable agriculture?

mzm_farm003003.jpg mzm_farm002004.jpg

Integrating 3 main goals; environmental stewardship, farm profitability and prosperous farming communities. It refers to the ability of a farm to produce food indefinately, without causing irreversible damage to ecosystem health. Going "green" is at the heart of MZM Farm philosophy. Our operations rely heavily on an integrated system of plant and animal production practices. Everything grown or produced on the property is recycled and used in inovative ways. In addition to producing and selling the freshest eggs in Lewis County, we hatch pure breeds while recycling all crop and livestock waste. Crops, fields and pens are rotated, "rested" or replanted to ensure healthy soil nutrients. Growing vegetables, the orchard or wild berries provide a source of nutrients for all as well as further opportunities for recycling. In addition we recycle all plastics, paper and materials to make the most of non-renewable resources and on-farm resources to integrate, where appropriate, natural biological cycles and control.

We at MZM Farm pride ourselves on our accomplishments, certifications and licensing. Our dedication, hard work and meticulous efforts for quality products is proudly passed on to you, the consumer. Working closely with County, State and Federal inspectors, MZM Farm continues to meet and surpass governing guidelines in the industry. As we grow and expand our operations, we promise to strive and maintain the highest industry standards. All our records and certifications are on file.

In addition to being "antibiotic free"... No pesticides have been used on the entire property.  Our license and certification inspections are as follows; A.I. quartery, NPIP bi-annually, and annual USDA, County health & water testing.
